Daniel 3

"But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up."

Daniel 3:18

Summary

In Daniel chapter 3, King Nebuchadnezzar constructs a massive golden statue and commands all people in his empire to worship it. Disobedience to this command would result in being thrown into a fiery furnace. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, faithful Jews and companions of Daniel, refuse to bow down to the statue, demonstrating their unwavering devotion to God. The king, enraged by their defiance, orders them to be thrown into the blazing furnace, heated seven times hotter than usual. However, God miraculously delivers them unharmed from the fire, and the king witnesses a fourth figure walking with them in the flames, resembling a son of God.
